Nghe An: 37 men were arrested while playing cockfighting for money

On August 17, Tan Ky District Police said that they had just raided a gambling den, arrested 37 people gambling in the form of cockfighting, and seized nearly 50 million VND.

About a month ago, Tan Ky District Police received information that at the house of Le Van Dai (born in 1971, residing in Minh Son hamlet, Ky Son commune, Tan Ky district), a gambling den was often organized in the form of cockfighting for money, with the participation of many subjects from many communes inside and outside the district.

Through information, the detectives found that these subjects operated very sophisticatedly, operating mainly on Sundays from 9am to 5pm. Each time they organized, the gamblers paid the gambling house owner 10,000 VND/person. They also fooled the authorities by disguising themselves as a traditional cockfighting game.

The cockfighting ring organized by Dai has been operating for a while. To avoid detection and arrest by the authorities, the cockfighting ring organizers have assigned people to keep watch.

During the investigation, the detectives used many synchronous professional measures, closely following the area to grasp the laws and methods of operation as well as monitor the movements of the subjects, waiting for the right opportunity to eliminate them.

After a period of persistent investigation and monitoring, on August 7, the District Police obtained accurate information that dozens of subjects were organizing gambling at Le Van Dai's cockfighting arena.

Faced with that situation, Tan Ky District Police mobilized forces divided into 3 working groups, inner and outer, simultaneously raided and caught 37 subjects participating in gambling in the form of cockfighting. These subjects resided in Tan Ky, Dien Chau, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son districts...

The case is currently being investigated and handled by the authorities according to regulations.
