Nghe An: 6 months of catching over 70 thousand tons of seafood
(Baonghean.vn) - In the first 6 months of 2018, Nghe An fishermen caught over 70 thousand tons of various types of seafood. The total value is estimated at over 1,380 billion VND.

Quynh Luu is the district with the largest number of fishing boats in the province with more than 1,200, of which more than 700 are offshore fishing boats with a capacity of 90CV or more.
In the first 6 months of 2018, despite unfavorable weather, fishermen in Quynh Luu district caught nearly 23 thousand tons of various seafood, with an economic value of over 515 billion VND.

According to the Department of Fisheries, Nghe An's seafood output in the first 6 months of the year reached 70,797 tons of various types of seafood, equal to 50.46% of the yearly plan; up 10.17% over the same period last year. The total value is estimated at more than 1,380 billion VND.
Nghe An currently has 3,895 fishing boats, of which 1,422 have a capacity of 90 CV or more, and 51 are logistics service boats. Nghe An fishermen catch seafood offshore using the following methods: gillnets, purse seines, 4-pole cast nets, and logistics services.
