Nghe An: 8 autonomous health sector units save 178 billion VND budget
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the number stated at the online conference summarizing the activities of the health sector in 2017 and deploying tasks for 2018, which took place on the afternoon of January 19.
Speaking at the Conference, comrade Le Minh Thong praised the efforts of Nghe An Health sector in taking care of people's health.

The outstanding achievements of Nghe An Health Sector in 2017 were recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people: The initial successful transformation of 8 medical examination and treatment units to the mechanism of autonomy in regular expenditure. With the autonomy mechanism, the units have developed in all aspects, as well as saved the State budget 178 billion VND/year.
The Health sector has advised the province to issue many important resolutions such as the price of medical services for those without health insurance cards or on school milk. The sector has received support from the Ministry of Health and central units to promote technical development and well direct provincial hospitals to care for and support district-level medical examination and treatment units. In addition, the Health sector has also done quite well in ensuring food safety and hygiene.

Comrade Le Minh Thong also pointed out the current limitations of the Nghe An health sector: The management of non-public medical practice still has many shortcomings. The reform of administrative procedures and the application of information technology to hospital management and medical examination and treatment are not strong. The management of socialized health care is still loose, causing some conflicts of interest; food safety and hygiene pose many potential risks...
Comrade Le Minh Thong requested the Nghe An Health sector to follow the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and the Minister of Health to do better in protecting and taking care of people's health. Especially the implementation of Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW on strengthening the protection, care and improvement of people's health in the new situation, Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW on population work in the new situation and the Project on Building and Developing the grassroots health network according to Decision 2348/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
The health sector needs to continue to do a good job in disease prevention and ensure sustainability in communes that meet the national health criteria. The sector needs to do a good job of coordinating management of medical practice; further promote administrative procedure reform, thoroughly apply information technology right at the Department of Health, major hospitals such as the Provincial General Hospital, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Endocrinology Hospital, etc.
