Nghe An: 91.88% of establishments achieve comprehensive strength
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 9, the Steering Committee for Building Safe and Mastery Bases of Nghe An province held a conference to deploy the task of building bases and sign a program to coordinate the implementation of military and defense tasks in 2020.

In 2019, the Party Committee, the government, the Steering Committee for Construction of the Bases of Nghe An province and departments, branches, organizations and armed forces closely followed the policies of the Central Committee and the resolutions and plans of the province, proactively overcame difficulties, and strived to successfully complete the task of building a comprehensive strong base, a safe cluster.
The report shows that in 2019, the province's political situation continued to be stable, the economy and society developed quite well, national defense and security were strengthened. People's lives gradually improved.
The total product in the area is estimated at 88,258 billion VND (equal to 109.03% compared to the same period in 2018). Up to now, 258/431 communes (accounting for 59.86%) and 4 district-level units have been recognized as meeting new rural standards. The work of training knowledge on National Defense - Security for the subjects has achieved the set goals and requirements; in which, training 88 dignitaries, officials, and heads of religious organizations in the area.
Directing 7 districts to conduct defensive area drills, storm and flood prevention drills, and forest fire fighting drills, and 118 communes, wards, and towns to conduct defensive combat drills, storm and flood prevention drills, and forest fire fighting drills.

The whole province currently has 467/480 commune-level Military Commands with their own offices, reaching 97.29%; 252 duty houses and duty rooms, reaching 52.5%. The border security situation is firmly protected; the armed forces actively do a good job of mobilizing the masses, propagating and mobilizing people to participate in building and consolidating the grassroots political system, helping people eliminate hunger, reduce poverty and build new rural areas...
Results of classifying establishments and clusters in 2019: 441/480 establishments achieved comprehensive strength, accounting for 91.88%, 35 establishments were good; 121/141 clusters were safe and self-sufficient, 19 clusters were good...

The conference discussed and clarified the advantages and disadvantages in building a safe and self-governing infrastructure in 2019, proposed causes and measures to overcome limitations and shortcomings, and agreed on goals, tasks, policies and main solutions in 2020.
The Steering Committee identified a number of key objectives such as: Focusing on leading and directing the successful organization of Party congresses at all levels; completing the restructuring of the administrative apparatus according to plan; completing and exceeding socio-economic targets; building a comprehensively strong National Defense and Security, striving to have over 92% of communes, wards and towns achieving comprehensive strength, with no weak establishments; 100% of clusters performing well or better.
