In order for a crop to achieve both output, quality and value, the district has instructed localities to propagate to farming households that for white-leg shrimp, the stocking density should be from 60 - 100 shrimp/m2; for brackish and saltwater tiger shrimp raised in intensive and semi-intensive farming, the stocking density should be from 15 - 20 shrimp/m2, and for improved extensive farming, the stocking density should be 6 - 8 shrimp/m2.
With the goal of minimizing disease, it is recommended that shrimp farmers only stock 2/3 of the area, leaving the remaining 1/3 as a settling pond to create a reserve and provide clean water in a timely manner for farming.
