(Baonghean.vn) - After rocking her 4-month-old baby to sleep, the maid hit the baby in the face, hit the head, and shook the baby. Afraid of being discovered, she ran back to turn off the camera in the room.

On October 25, Mr. Dinh Van Tai (born in 1994, residing in block 12, Ben Thuy ward, Vinh city), said that he had filed a complaint with Ben Thuy ward police (Vinh city) about Ms. Dinh Thi L. (born in 1961, residing in Hung Phuc commune, Hung Nguyen) beating her child, D.AN (over 4 months old).

Ms. L. was hired by Mr. Tai's family from October 5, 2017 with the main task of taking care of Mr. Tai's child with a salary of 4 million VND/month.

According to Mr. Tai, in the past 2 weeks, his child has shown signs of vomiting, crying at night, and sleeping less than before. “There was a time when my child vomited every time he ate, my wife thought he had diarrhea. She took him to the clinic and Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for examination, the doctors said that the endocrine signs were normal but the child's fontanel was bulging, possibly causing brain swelling. The doctor prescribed medicine and told him to go home and monitor it further,” Mr. Tai said.

On the morning of October 24, while preparing to go to work, Mr. Tai opened his phone to check the camera to see his child at home and saw Mrs. L. stand up and disconnect it. Mr. Tai called his father to come over to see what was going on and about 30 minutes later, the camera was working again.

Previously, the camera in Mr. Tai's house was often turned off for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Seeing something unusual, Mr. Tai asked someone to check and was informed that someone had turned off the camera. Checking the camera a few days ago, Mr. Tai was upset when he saw the maid beating his son.

"I watched the camera on October 11 and saw Ms. L. hit my child's face and head with a pillow. Then she picked him up and shook him hard. Afraid that my husband and I would find out, she quickly ran back and turned off the camera. After that, I don't know if she did anything to my child," said Mr. Tai.

After discovering the incident, Mr. Tai quickly returned home and showed the clip to Mrs. L., but she denied it and said that it did not happen. Afterwards, Mr. Tai called the Ben Thuy Ward Police. Mrs. L. was invited to the ward police station for questioning.

Here, Ms. L. admitted to hitting and shaking her child and asked Mr. Tai to forgive her. On the evening of October 24, Mr. Tai fired Ms. L. and paid her for her time working.

“I really don’t want to escalate the matter if Ms. L. admits her mistake from the beginning. This is also a lesson for my family in hiring a babysitter. I hope the authorities will consider and handle Ms. L.’s child abuse. My child is still too young, if it unfortunately affects her health in the long term, we will be very upset,” Mr. Tai shared.

It is known that the case is being verified by the Criminal Investigation Team, Vinh City Police.
