Nghe An: Doctors and nurses donate blood to save patients
(Baonghean.vn) - In an emergency situation of acute blood loss, Ms. Lo Thi H. received timely blood donations from doctors and nurses at a hospital in Nghe An, helping her overcome the critical condition.
On the afternoon of September 11, information from the Northwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital said that patient Lo Thi H. (45 years old, from Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An) had overcome the critical stage after undergoing emergency surgery at the hospital and thanks to doctors and nurses donating blood.

Previously, on September 5, Ms. H. was taken to the emergency room with a diagnosis of chest and abdominal trauma, pleural effusion, spleen contusion, and acute blood loss.
After consultation, patient H. was assigned to emergency surgery to drain the pleura, remove the spleen, and have a blood transfusion. However, the hospital's preparation for surgery to remove group B red blood cells had ended.
Nghe An Northwestern Regional General Hospital mobilized blood from the Live Blood Bank Club of the Hospital Youth Union. Afterwards, Dr. Pham The Nhan - Deputy Head of the Emergency Resuscitation Department and nurse Nguyen Thi Huong - Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology donated blood to help patient H. overcome the critical condition.

Doctor La Van Khoi - Secretary of the hospital's Youth Union said that the hospital's live blood bank club was established in 2010. On average, each year the club donates blood to 15 patients, including many critical emergency patients.
