(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 14, Lieutenant Colonel To Van Hau - Head of Ky Son District Police said that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute a criminal case on the act of buying and selling children under 16 years old to China.

The subject who was just ordered to be urgently arrested by the authorities is Moong Thi Mui (born in 1988, residing in Luu Tien village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district).

According to the working minutes of the Ky Son District Police, in 2016 and 2017, through the phone, Moong Thi Mui regularly contacted a woman named Tan, in La Ngan village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, who is currently living and married in China, to connect with girls from the same Luu Tien village to China to sell for profit.

According to Mui's statement, around the beginning of 2016, seeing the family of Mr. Lu Van Thuyet, born in 1976 and Mrs. Xeo Thi Loan, born in 1967, living in the same village of Luu Tien, in difficult circumstances, belonging to the poor household category, lacking jobs, and needing money to buy livestock to raise, Mui asked: "Your family has 2 daughters, does any of them want to go to China to get married, they pay a lot of money". Mr. Thuyet asked again how much, Mui answered 100 million VND, Mr. Thuyet told them to go home and ask their children first.

Two days later, Mr. Thuyet replied that Chien ((Lu Thi Chien, born in 2001, the second child of Mr. Thuyet and Ms. Loan - PV) went. After that, the two sides made a commitment not to sue.

Three days later, Mui took Lu Thi Chien to Highway 7 to catch a bus to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) and was picked up by Mrs. Tan, who took her deep into mainland China. Later, a Chinese man bought Chien for 60,000 yuan (equivalent to 180 million VND), and Tan gave Mui 40,000 yuan to take her home.

Upon arriving in Vietnam, Mui exchanged that amount of money for 120 million Vietnamese Dong. When she got home, Mui gave Chien's family 100 million Dong and took the remaining 20 million Dong.

Seeing that everything was going well, in 2017, Mui saw that the family of Cut Thi Sam, born in 2004, had just dropped out of school and returned home, so she asked Sam if she wanted to go to China to get married. With the victim and her family's consent, Mui took Sam to the other side of the border to sell her and returned the money in full as originally promised to the victim's family.

Thanks to the people’s complaints, the Ky Son District Police force began an investigation. At the time Mui took the victims to China to sell, both Chien and Sam were under 16 years old.

After consolidating the case file, the Investigation Police Department of Ky Son District Police initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and issued an arrest warrant for Moong Thi Mui for the act of buying and selling children under 16 years old, to continue the investigation and soon bring her to justice according to regulations.
