This fish is more than 3.6 m long and weighs about 25 kg. The dragonfish has tentacles in the front like a dragon's spout.

“I don’t know what to do with this fish yet. It’s still alive, I hope the authorities have a plan so we can know or let me handle it,” Mr. Chien added.

According to Mr. Chien, if no authorities come to inquire or have a plan, he will cut up the body and possibly bury it.

According to information from fishermen and anglers, this fish species is mentioned in folklore as a "sea monster".

Through studying some scientific documents, the "appearance" of this fish species is similar to the oarfish, scientifically named Regalecus glesne, discovered in 1772 by a Norwegian biologist.
