Nghe An: Caught a hundred-year-old giant turtle crawling on the road

(Baonghean.vn) - While walking on the street, a local discovered a "giant" turtle and brought it home. The turtle weighed nearly 15kg.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of September 3, Mr. Nguyen Lam Son (residing in hamlet 13, Thanh Ha commune, Thanh Chuong district) was walking on the road in hamlet 12, Thanh Ha commune, when he suddenly discovered a turtle on the side of the road.

Seeing the "huge" turtle, Mr. Son caught it and brought it home. Upon inspection, the turtle weighed nearly 15kg and had a hard, thick shell.

Mr. Son said that the road where the turtle was found had no streams or ponds. Therefore, he speculated that the turtle had crawled from a stream a few kilometers away.

Hearing that Mr. Son’s family had caught a “giant” turtle, many villagers came to see. According to the locals, they had never seen such a big turtle in the area.

Some elderly people also came to see and said that this turtle was over a hundred years old. Currently, Mr. Son's family is still keeping this turtle at home.
