Nghe An: Arresting former Head and 2 officials of the Forest Protection Management Board
(Baonghean.vn) - These 3 people were arrested to serve the investigation of creating fake documents to appropriate about 5 billion VND in compensation for land lease.
On the afternoon of May 6, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh - Head of the Yen Thanh District Forest Protection Management Board confirmed that 3 people, including officials and former officials of this Board, had just been temporarily detained by the police.
The three people arrested include: Mr. Phan Tien Sy - former Head of the Yen Thanh District Protective Forest Management Board; Mr. Nguyen Tho Huy - Deputy Head of the Yen Thanh District Protective Forest Management Board and Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Head of the Technical Department of the Yen Thanh District Protective Forest Management Board.
All three were arrested to investigate the act of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties".

Earlier, on the same morning, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police had issued an order to temporarily detain the above 3 people, and searched the offices and houses of the 3 suspects. All 3 of these people were transferred to the Investigation Police Agency in the afternoon of the same day.
According to initial information, in 2014, Dong Bac Company leased forest land in Yen Thanh district to carry out a project of planting feed crops to raise dairy cows of TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, with a lease term of 50 years.
This board received compensation from the enterprise, but later the officials created fake documents to embezzle about 5 billion VND. At that time, Mr. Phan Tien Sy was the Head of the Yen Thanh District Forest Protection Management Board.
The investigation agency is continuing to expand the investigation of the case.
