Nghe An: Arrested a subject transporting 40 bamboo rats of unknown origin
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 26, the Traffic Police Team of Quy Chau District Police discovered and caught Lu Van Muoi, a permanent resident of Lam village, Tri Le commune (Que Phong district), transporting 40 bamboo rats of unknown origin.

Accordingly, at around 6:00 a.m. on March 26, at Km 81 of National Highway 48, passing through Chau Hoi Commune (Quy Chau District), while on duty, the Quy Chau District Police patrol team discovered a man driving a motorbike with license plate number 37F1-10959 with suspicious signs. Upon inspection, the team caught him red-handed transporting 40 live bamboo rats tied to the back of the motorbike and wrapped in sacks. The total weight of the bamboo rats was 25 kg.

The person transporting the animals was identified as Mr. Lu Van Muoi, residing in Lam village, Tri Le commune (Que Phong). The working group requested to present relevant documents, but Mr. Muoi could not prove the validity of the documents. He confessed that he bought these rats from people in Lam village, Tri Le for 150,000 VND/kg and transported them to Nghia Dan district for sale.

Currently, 40 bamboo rats have been handed over to local forest rangers for handling, and authorities continue to investigate and clarify according to regulations.
