Nghe An honors 130 outstanding members and officials of the Women's Union
80 outstanding ethnic minority and religious women's union members and 50 district-level union officials across the province were commended for their many positive contributions to the development of the women's movement and the union organization.
On September 23, the Women's Union of Nghe An province organized a "Conference to commend typical ethnic minority and religious women and district-level Women's Union officials for the period 2021-2024".
Attending the conference were comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Association, Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, President of the Provincial Women's Union; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Religious Committee and related departments, branches and units.
Nghe An has 21 organizationsWomen's Uniondistrict level and 3 armed forces units. Up to now, the whole province has nearly 682,000 members, of which nearly 80,000 are ethnic minority members, 32,000 are religious members; there are 102 district level and equivalent Association officials.
In the period of 2021-2024, the Women's Union at all levels in the province will focus on implementing the resolutions of the Women's Congresses at all levels. Through the assessment of the half-term implementation of the Resolution, it can be seen that the set targets have been basically achieved and exceeded each year.
Nghe An has 80,000 ethnic minority women including Thai, Tho, Kho Mu, Mong, and O Du people living in 12 districts and towns of the province (11 mountainous districts and towns and Quynh Luu district).
In recent years, despite facing many difficulties from epidemics, natural disasters, and living conditions, ethnic minority cadres and members have had many good and creative ways of implementing emulation movements, campaigns, breakthroughs, and key tasks of the Association.
To develop the economy, ethnic minority women have participated in models implemented by the Association such as: banana leaf growing, squash growing, ginger growing, and medicinal herb growing. Women also participate in savings groups, credit savings groups, models: "Rice savings jar", "Savings tube", community tourism groups, building OCOP products...
This has made an important contribution to improving economic and cultural life; gradually eliminating bad customs, social evils, and superstitions, and aiming to preserve, conserve, and promote the fine traditional cultural features of our nation.
For religious areas, Nghe An currently has 32 thousand cadres and members of the Catholic Women’s Association. With the motto of “living a good life and living a good religion”, “living the gospel in the heart of the nation”, this force has also contributed deeply to the development of the whole province.
Over the years, 102 district-level Women's Union officials have demonstrated their capacity, role, and position as "locomotives", as a bridge between the Women's Union at the higher level and the Women's Union at the grassroots level. Under the direction and guidance of the district-level Women's Union officials, the grassroots Women's Union organization has increasingly innovated.
The typical, pioneering, exemplary, and dedicated examples in the movement and activities of the Association of district-level Association officials have truly contributed to the Association at all levels and the Association's officials at all levels in effectively implementing the targets and tasks in the past half term.
“The conference to honor ethnic minority and religious women and district-level Women's Union officials for the period 2021-2024” is a recognition of the contributions, enthusiastic and dedicated efforts, overcoming all difficulties of ethnic minority and religious women's union officials and members, and the continuous efforts of the district-level Women's Union officials. They are the "extended arm" of the Union, bringing the women's movement and Union activities to all classes of women.
