Nghe An - Bolykhamxay (Laos): Strengthening coordination to protect security and order in border areas

(Baonghean.vn) -On July 1 in Vinh City, the Police - Border Guard of Nghe An province and the Police of Bolikhamxay province (Laos) held the 6th Conference on coordination in protecting security and order in the border area. Lieutenant Colonel Vu Chien Thang - Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police and Lieutenant Colonel Thong Lay Xay Nha Lat - Deputy Director of Bolikhamxay Provincial Police chaired the Conference.

At the conference, the two delegations discussed a number of socio-economic issues and reported on the situation and results of security and order coordination work between the two provinces in recent times.

To continue to effectively coordinate to ensure security and order in the border area between the two provinces, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Chien Thang - Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police Department suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen the exchange of information related to security and order, promote cooperation in the field of crime prevention and combat, focus on resolving border security situations, especially criminal offenses, drug crimes, arms trafficking, deforestation, illegal logging... on the border of the two provinces; coordinate in protecting conferences and important events held in the two provinces. In addition, focus on immigration management, strengthen education for people in the border area to raise awareness of respecting the independence, sovereignty, customs and practices of each country, together build the two countries of Vietnam - Laos in general, and the two provinces of Nghe An - Bolikhamxay in particular to increasingly develop.

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in protecting security and order in border areas.

Also at the Conference, after agreeing on the contents, representatives of the two delegations signed a memorandum of understanding and presented souvenirs, and wished the solidarity and special friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general and the two provinces in particular "Forever green, forever sustainable"./.
