Nghe An: Organizations and individuals registered to donate more than 50 billion VND to support Tet for the poor
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 24, at the regular meeting of January 2018, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong launched a campaign for departments, branches and localities to respond and support the poor to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2018.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee announced that the Central Party Secretariat had issued Directive No. 16-CT/TW dated December 22, 2017 on organizing the 2018 Tet holiday in a practical, economical, healthy manner, in accordance with the civilized lifestyle, cultural traditions of the nation, with the customs, traditions, and practices of each locality.

The head of the provincial People's Committee said that this year, localities will not organize fireworks displays but will spend time and money to take care of Tet for the poor and policy families; share and help people affected by natural disasters and floods.
This morning, members of the Provincial People's Committee attending the regular meeting of January 2018 donated to support the poor of the province with a total amount of more than 30 million VND.
Previously, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh sent a letter calling for support, companionship, and assistance from agencies, units, organizations, individuals, the business community, and philanthropists to help the poor enjoy the Spring Festival, celebrate Tet, and overcome difficulties in life.
Nghe An currently has nearly 66,000 poor households in need of the community's attention, support and sharing to celebrate Tet Mau Tuat 2018. As of January 23, organizations and individuals in the province have registered to support Tet for the poor with 50 billion VND./.
