Nghe An granted 9 new FDI projects in 2019

According to the report of the Department of Foreign Affairs, in 2019, Nghe An province's foreign affairs activities had many improvements; were implemented synchronously, effectively, and developed comprehensively in both breadth and depth, across the three pillars (Party foreign affairs, State foreign affairs and People's foreign affairs), contributing significantly to the socio-economic development and strengthening of national defense and security of the province.

The Provincial Party Committee issued Action Program No. 92-CTr/TU dated August 23, 2019 of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on implementing Directive No. 32-CT/TW dated February 28, 2019 of the Politburo on strengthening and improving the effectiveness of the Party's foreign relations in the new situation for the period 2020 - 2030 in Nghe An province.

At the same time, the Provincial Party Committee also directed resolutely the work of building and implementing the 2019 Foreign Affairs Program, the management of outgoing and incoming delegations; and orienting the province's foreign information activities...

In the field of foreign economic relations, in 2019, the province granted new licenses to 9 FDI projects with a total registered investment capital of 251.31 million USD. FDI projects have had positive impacts on the province's economy and society, creating jobs for more than 20,000 workers, contributing to economic restructuring, promoting exports, and contributing to the state budget.

Regarding ODA capital attraction, by the end of October 2019, the Provincial People's Committee had approved 1 ODA project with a total investment capital of 12.16 million USD. At the same time, in the province, there were 20 programs, projects and 11 non-projects with a total committed capital of more than 4 million USD.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa emphasized that foreign affairs play an important role in promoting the image as well as promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

The orientation of foreign affairs activities in 2020 is that the province will deepen cooperation with partners. Further promote cooperation activities with countries, especially Laos, Korea, Japan, the Russian Federation, Australia, ASEAN countries...; effectively implement the 2020 Foreign Affairs Program.

The province will strengthen investment promotion and attract foreign direct investment to call for investment projects in various fields.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa requested the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and localities to review the number of outgoing and incoming delegations in 2020. For outgoing delegations with similar content, it is necessary to review and integrate the delegations, combine with delegations of ministries and branches to limit the number of outgoing delegations, as well as save costs.
