Nghe An: Cut more than 50 extended truck beds on national highways

According to the report of Nghe An Traffic Inspectorate: From February 25th to now, on National Highway 46 alone passing through the districts of Hung Nguyen and Nam Dan, the authorities have requested transport units to cut 20 extended truck bodies. Some transport units have been requested to cut 100% of the truck bodies according to regulations, such as Hoang Minh transport unit in Hung Nguyen cutting 6/6 truck bodies...

For National Highway 48A passing through the localities of Thai Hoa, Nghia Dan, and Quy Hop, the authorities requested transport units to cut 30 truck beds.
Mr. Nguyen Sy Thang - Chief Inspector of Nghe An Department of Transport said: The cutting off of the cargo box is done in a centralized manner, under the direct supervision of the Department of Transport inspectors, the vehicles required to cut the box are mostly large trucks. The truck boxes are usually extended from 1.6 to 1.8 meters high, and are required to be cut down to 1.2 meters according to regulations.

Since February 25, traffic control by the authorities has required transport businesses in the province to cut and extend 50 truck beds carrying construction materials to avoid overloading, with fines of over VND500 million, mainly to handle acts of extending the bed and overloading.
In the coming time, the authorities will continue to focus on inspections in mining areas and sources of goods, and encourage businesses to use their own vehicles to cut containers to reduce the situation of transporting oversized and overloaded goods.
