Nghe An: Forest fire in Na Ngoi border area, hundreds of people went to put out the fire

(Baonghean.vn) - According to Nghe An Newspaper, a fire is currently occurring in Na Ngoi commune, burning large areas of upstream forest.

Local people said that the fire started on the morning of March 16, 2016 at Pu Mo Mountain, Buoc Mu Village, Na Ngoi Commune (Ky Son). Due to the rugged terrain and dry weather, it has caused many obstacles to controlling the fire. As of 2:30 p.m. today (March 19), the authorities of Ky Son District and the communes surrounding the fire site mobilized hundreds of people to put out the fire and make every effort to prevent the fire from spreading.

According to local people, the cause of the forest fire was due to some households burning down the forest to make fields, while the trees and vegetation in this area had already withered after the historic cold and frost. Thus, after the disaster of the "super" cold spell, people in Na Ngoi commune and neighboring areas continue to face the disaster of forest fires.
