In Nghe An, the Prenatal and Newborn Screening Project has been implemented since 2012 in 21 districts and cities. Through this project, the aim is to promote and mobilize people to undergo prenatal and postnatal screening to detect abnormalities, focusing on screening for two diseases: congenital hypothyroidism and G6PD deficiency. The implementation is mainly in the form of socialization for prenatal screening and the Central Government supports funding for postnatal screening. However, due to financial difficulties, the rate of mothers and children screened is only 10-20%. |
