Nghe An urgently directs quarantine and health monitoring to prevent Covid-19 epidemic

(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee of Nghe An province has issued an urgent dispatch requesting to review and make a list of people who came into contact with passengers on Vietnam Airlines flight VN0054 departing from the UK on March 2, 2020, to carry out necessary quarantine measures.

On March 9, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 1243/UBND-VX requesting provincial departments, branches, relevant units of the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to implement Official Dispatch No. 1120/CV-BCĐ dated March 7, 2020 and Official Dispatch No. 1126/CV-BCĐ dated March 9, 2020 of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on quarantine and health monitoring to prevent and control Covid-19.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Nghe An province assigned provincial departments, branches, sectors and relevant units to direct the organization of screening and making a list of passengers and related subjects in contact with cases on flight number VN0054 of Vietnam Airlines departing from the UK on March 2, 2020.

Require officers and employees to accurately and honestly declare the time of contact with the cases on the above flight and notify the list to the Department of Health and local authorities where the subjects reside to guide timely health monitoring according to regulations and make health declarations according to the form. Coordinate with the Steering Committees of districts, cities and towns to organize quarantine and health monitoring for subjects according to regulations.

For the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns, urgently organize investigations to determine the residence of all those who have come into contact with the cases on the above flight to have timely health monitoring instructions, make medical declarations according to the form and organize medical quarantine according to regulations. For those who have been in close contact with Covid-19 positive cases, they must be immediately quarantined at a medical facility for 14 days and have samples taken for confirmation testing.

For those who have been in close contact with Covid-19 positive patients, quarantine and health monitoring must be organized at home, at their place of residence for 14 days and notify the local authorities (commune/ward/town) and closely monitor the health of these subjects daily. If they show signs of fever, cough, sneezing, runny nose, fatigue, chills or difficulty breathing, they must immediately notify the local authorities to organize quarantine at a medical facility and take samples for testing.

For other related people besides the above subjects, make a list and instruct them to self-monitor their health for 14 days. If they show symptoms of illness (fever, cough, sneezing, runny nose, fatigue, chills or difficulty breathing), they should proactively go to a medical facility for timely examination and treatment.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested provincial departments, branches, relevant units and People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to direct the implementation and report the review results to the Department of Health (Provincial Center for Disease Control) before 11:00 a.m. on March 11, 2020 to synthesize and report to the National Steering Committee as required.
