Nghe An directs and coordinates the organization of the Marathon 'Journey to Lotus Village'
This Marathon is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), attracting many professional athletes nationwide to compete.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued an official dispatch on coordinating the organization of the 2024 Nghe An Marathon "Journey to Lotus Village".
Accordingly, the opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. on June 8; the closing ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. on June 9, at Binh Minh Cua Lo Square, Cua Lo town.

+ 5km distance: 5:15 a.m. on June 9, 2024, starting from Binh Minh Square - running along Binh Minh Street to Cua Hoi - intersection of Binh Minh Street and Vinh Boulevard - Cua Lo - turning around to the finish line at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo town.
+ 10km distance: 5:00 a.m. June 9, 2024, starting from Binh Minh Square - running along Binh Minh Street to Cua Hoi - turn right onto Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard - running around the traffic island on Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard towards Binh Minh Street - turn right onto Binh Minh Street - turning point at Binh Minh Street - turning around and finishing at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo town.
+ 21km distance: 3:30 a.m. June 9, 2024, starting from Binh Minh Square - running along Binh Minh Street to Cua Hoi - turn right onto Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard - turning point on Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard - running around in the right direction from Vinh to Cua Lo at the traffic island on Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard towards Binh Minh Street - turn right onto Binh Minh Street - turning point on Binh Minh Street - turn around and finish at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo town.

This Marathon is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An, VietNamNet Newspaper and Win VietNam Company, attracting many professional athletes nationwide to participate.
The tournament was held on the route under the management of localities and units: Cua Lo town, Nghi Loc district, Hung Nguyen district, Nam Dan district and Vinh city, using socialized funding sources.
For the tournament to be a success, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to closely coordinate with the host unit to survey and build the racetrack route; coordinate the mobilization of referees to participate in the tournament management.
The Department of Health develops a plan to ensure disease prevention and control, food safety and hygiene, and health protection for athletes and guests during the tournament; coordinates with the organizing unit to unify the location of medical staff and ambulances on the running routes to develop a medical support plan for athletes participating in the race.
The Department of Information and Communications directs and guides press agencies and grassroots information systems to promote the tournament; coordinates with the host unit to organize press conferences and provide event information to press agencies.

The Provincial Police shall preside over and coordinate with relevant units to develop and implement plans to ensure security and order; fire prevention and fighting, rescue and relief plans at event locations; arrange vehicles, traffic police and public order police on duty; coordinate traffic at the starting and finishing points and along the race route, opening and closing locations, ensuring security and safety for athletes; coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to inspect and appraise entry and exit procedures of foreigners participating (if any) in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Entry and Exit; carry out accommodation management for athletes participating in the tournament according to regulations...
The Department of Foreign Affairs coordinates with the Provincial Police to guide the host unit to organize, manage and support foreign athletes to complete procedures in accordance with regulations to participate in the tournament.
The Department of Transport guides the organizing unit and related units in the process of implementing the procedures for requesting the use of roads for cultural activities; directs related units to inspect, review, and promptly repair damaged routes and sections of roads under their management; fully supplement road signs on the routes,paragraphtournament route
The Department of Tourism coordinates and directs the inspection of compliance with legal regulations on prices at accommodation and food service establishments in the area, preventing the situation of taking advantage of the increased demand for accommodation to unreasonably increase prices, negatively affecting the tourism image of Nghe An; encourages accommodation establishments to develop promotional programs for athletes and tourists to demonstrate hospitality and attract athletes and tourists to Nghe An; coordinates with relevant units to introduce tours and tourist routes.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the People's Committees of Vinh city, Cua Lo town and Nghi Loc, Nam Dan and Hung Nguyen districts to direct relevant units to ensure environmental sanitation and clean city landscape during the tournament; direct communes and wards to propagate the meaning of the tournament, notify households to hang the national flag, mobilize people to plant flags along the running route outside residential areas; inform people to cheer for athletes on the running route; request people living on the running route to ensure safety for athletes such as not letting livestock and poultry roam freely on sections where the running route passes through...
