In the first two months of 2017, the industrial production growth index increased by 7.89% over the same period last year, of which the mining industry increased by 5.04%; the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 6.77%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and smokeless air conditioning increased by 40.16% (mainly due to the amount of water flowing into the lake increasing compared to the same period and the strong increase in demand for commercial electricity) and water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 15.3% over the same period.

At the beginning of the year, a number of factories broke ground and went into operation, such as the groundbreaking of the Container Manufacturing Factory Project of TKV Group invested in the Southeast Economic Zone with a total registered capital of 550 billion VND, expected to supply 6,000 Container products each year, expected to be completed in June 2018. The project is built on an area of ​​3.6 hectares, with a capacity of 300,000 tons/year, with a total investment of 325 billion VND.
