(Baonghean.vn) - With the annual reality that people's purchasing power increases at the end of the year, especially during the Lunar New Year, Nghe An's Industry and Trade sector has implemented many solutions to ensure supply and stabilize the market.

Supply and demand forecast

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, it is forecasted that by the end of 2023 and the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, purchasing power will gradually recover, along with many stimulus policies that have been and are being implemented, actively supporting economic growth. Sectors, units and enterprises in the province have actively implemented many consumer stimulus programs (organizing trade promotion events, tourism promotion, promotional programs, connecting supply and demand, etc.), contributing to increasing purchasing power. The increase in basic salary for civil servants, public employees and workers applied from July 1, 2023 will also help people increase their spending, contributing to the increase in total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the last months of the year.

However, the instability of the world situation can cause the price of raw materials and input materials to fluctuate, creating pressure on production and business of enterprises because the price of consumer goods can increase. People tend to focus on shopping for truly essential items.

Based on the analysis of advantages and difficulties, the Industry and Trade sector has identified the groups of goods that need to ensure supply and demand during the upcoming Lunar New Year, including fresh foods of all kinds; confectionery, jams, wine, beer, soft drinks, gasoline, oil, etc.

The supply system of goods in the province during Tet is mainly based on basic channels: traditional sales channels, including 27 shopping centers; supermarket systems, market systems, more than 600 convenience stores, more than 3,000 grocery stores in districts, cities, and towns; 17 points of introduction and sale of OCOP products. Multimedia sales channels, including e-commerce platforms, multimedia sales channels (via phone, website, shopping application...) of the traditional distribution system in the area.

Ms. Tran My Ha - Head of Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade said: The industry closely monitors the developments of supply - demand, commodity prices and supply capacity, promptly advises and proposes solutions to stabilize the market; presides over and coordinates the organization of connection and trade promotion activities to support the consumption of safe food products, regional specialties, and combine to create sources of goods for Tet; organizes points of sale to ensure adequate goods and stable prices to serve the people; organizes and implements promotional programs to stimulate consumption.

Along with that, the industry coordinates with large and reputable e-commerce platforms in the province to support cooperatives, businesses, and individuals in consuming agricultural products, OCOP products, and consumer products.

Nghe An Industry and Trade Department has reviewed the expected supply of goods to serve the needs of people in the province 3 months before, during and after the Lunar New Year. Specifically: more than 75 tons of rice, more than 19.4 tons of pork; more than 11.4 tons of beef; 13.5 tons of poultry; 63.7 tons of vegetables, tubers, fruits; 13.6 tons of aquatic products; more than 10 tons of processed foods; 15.2 tons of fruits; 3.3 tons of cakes, jams, candies; nearly 6.8 million liters of cooking oil; more than 292 million liters of beer, wine, soft drinks...

Strengthen market control

In general, the work of preparing conditions to serve the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024 happily, healthily, safely and economically has been paid attention to and focused on by ministries, branches and localities across the country.

In Nghe An, Mr. Cao Minh Tu - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: Implementing the direction of the Government Office, the Minister of Industry and Trade and the Provincial People's Committee on implementing solutions to ensure supply - demand balance, market stabilization at the end of 2023 and the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, the department has deployed a plan to ensure supply - demand balance, market stabilization at the end of the year; strengthen the grasp, provide information, orientation, encourage businesses to promote production, business, improve the quality of goods and services in combination with implementing the green growth plan in Nghe An province.

The industry has also directed businesses and localities to strengthen the work of stockpiling and preparing goods well, focusing on items in the list of goods and services with stable prices and items with high demand during Tet, in mountainous areas, remote areas; effectively implementing the work of stabilizing the Tet market in conjunction with the implementation of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".

The Department of Industry and Trade also strengthens market inspection and control, promptly prevents acts of production, trading, circulation of prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, trade fraud, speculation, hoarding, illegal price increases for illegal profits. Has proactive plans to deal with unusual market fluctuations; ensures food safety and product quality under the management of the sector in the area. Ensures the supply of electricity and gasoline to serve the needs of businesses and people in the area.

Currently, production and business units are developing plans to ensure the supply of essential goods to serve the people before, during and after Tet, to avoid shortages of goods, to organize regular and continuous sales, and to diversify sales forms. Goods must ensure quality, origin, food safety, prices must be publicly listed, sold at listed prices, and business must comply with regulations.

Relevant departments, branches, units, People's Committees of districts, cities, towns, and businesses in the area organize well the Tet service work in many forms, promote events to stimulate consumption, promote trade, promote industry, OCOP programs, concentrated promotion programs... to meet the living needs of people.
