The director of a supermarket in Vinh city said: According to the plan, our business expects sales to increase by about 30% compared to last year, and to achieve the plan, we will prepare, reserve and supply goods for 2 months before and after Tet with an increase of over 50%, the total value of goods is about 50 billion VND. The reason is that the quantity of goods is always imported more for backup. Currently, goods have begun to be gathered and put on shelves to serve consumers. According to the assessment, the number of people in the country returning home for Tet will be larger than in previous years (due to the epidemic, they did not return this year).

This year, the economic situation is difficult, so many supermarkets have plans to reduce the proportion of high-end goods and instead increase the source of quality goods at more affordable prices to serve the needs of consumers. Supermarkets in the area such as BigC, Maximax, Metro... are all committed to keeping prices stable, not adjusting prices during Tet, and at the same time implementing many promotional discount programs on many products to stimulate consumption. The total value of goods serving Tet in the province is estimated to reach over 10,000 billion VND. Of which, some large supermarkets such as BigC reserve goods worth about 50 billion VND, Metro 25 billion VND, Vinmart 50 billion VND...

Ms. Vo Thi Thao - owner of a key enterprise in Vinh city said, this year we have reserved 300,000 liters of cooking oil, with a total value of over 12 billion VND; in addition to cooking oil, the unit also prepares white sugar, milk, ... total sales of goods reached 50 billion VND, an increase of 15% compared to normal months. In addition, we proactively exploit agricultural products, food, traditional specialties of the provinces, diversify products (priority for Vietnamese goods) to serve the needs of the Nghe An market at the end of 2020 and Tet, not to let shortages of goods cause prices to rise.

Many units have also proactively linked up and formed supply chains from production to circulation to ensure a rich and diverse source of goods at stable prices to serve people's consumption needs during Tet. Strictly comply with price registration and declaration for price-stabilized goods, goods on the price declaration list, diversify distribution methods, and approaches to consumers...

Mr. Cao Minh Tu - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that we are currently coordinating with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and other functional units and localities to closely monitor the production situation, disease developments, especially African swine fever, and assess the supply capacity of pork and other essential goods for the local market. Directing production and business enterprises in the area to focus on promoting production and business, proactively researching the market, developing production plans, and reserving goods to maintain production and business activities.

The Industry and Trade sector regularly urges and facilitates production and business enterprises to carry out domestic trade promotion activities, stimulus programs, expand the distribution network of goods, implement Vietnamese goods programs to rural areas, remote areas before, during and after Tet; focus on essential goods, serving Tet to provide early and adequate supply to people, especially remote areas, ensuring quantity and quality; direct food distribution enterprises such as supermarkets, shopping centers, etc. to coordinate with enterprises and concentrated livestock facilities to have plans to ensure the supply of pork and pork substitutes.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has been monitoring the production of agricultural, forestry and fishery products; livestock farming, livestock and poultry output, etc. in the province, especially in the months before, during and after Tet to direct production and breeding, creating a stable source of agricultural, forestry, aquatic and seafood products, ensuring quality, food hygiene and safety, and fully meeting the consumption needs of the people.
