Nghe An proactively handles timely and ensures aviation safety and security
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 24, in Hanoi, the Government held an online meeting with provinces to summarize ensuring civil aviation security in 2021 and deploy tasks for 2022.
The conference was chaired from Hanoi by Comrade Pham Binh Minh - Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Aviation Security Committee. Also attending were representatives of ministries, sectors, aviation enterprises and provinces with airports.
Chairing the conference from Nghe An bridge was comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending were representatives of functional departments, agencies and branches.

At the beginning of the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, on behalf of the National Aviation Security Committee, delivered an opening speech, reviewing the situation.air freightin 2021 internationally in general and Vietnam in particular.
In the spirit of finding solutions to overcome difficulties and improve capacity to ensure aviation safety and security, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities with airports to propose specific solutions and anticipate situations to respond to possible risks.

Next, the representative of the Ministry of Transport raised some characteristics, the situation of domestic and international air transport, the complex aviation security issues that have arisen along with territorial claims leading to the establishment of no-fly zones and military exercises; the trend of competition to create influence in international relations; the Covid-19 epidemic situation and new strains have greatly affected, causing freight transport revenue and passenger travel to decrease sharply.
In 2021, there were 414 violations of aviation safety and security regulations nationwide, down from the same period last year. The cases were handled promptly and caused little damage; more and more unmanned devices and vehicles are threatening aviation safety operations. In recent months, although the Government and the Ministry of Transport have had a number of solutions, air transport is still facing difficulties and many new problems have arisen. Entering 2022, the Government has had a number of plans to conduct drills to ensure aviation safety and security, but due to the complicated developments of the pandemic, they have not been able to be implemented.

In Nghe An, in 2021, along with implementing regulations and solutions on ensuring aviation safety and security, the Provincial People's Committee has taken a number of directive measures forVinh International AirportEnsure epidemic prevention safety, limit risks that threaten flight safety.
Specifically, during the year, the provincial authorities coordinated to handle 1 case of passengers causing trouble on an airplane, 4 cases of passengers causing trouble at the port, 13 cases of escorting criminals by air, 2 cases of passengers using invalid documents, and 11 cases related to aviation safety on the runway.

Based on the difficulties and recommendations from ministries, branches, representatives of aviation enterprises and localities, the Ministry of Transport has proposed a number of solutions to improve the efficiency of national air transport in 2022, continuing to propose a number of transport targets and tasks, ensuring aviation safety and security.
The Ministry also recommended that the Government direct ministries and branches to complete legal frameworks for management and invest in equipment for inspection and supervision to ensureaviation safety, fire and explosion prevention, terrorist risks at airports and seaports; soon establish a company specializing in aviation security services; ensure civilized and safe management of passenger pick-up and drop-off activities at airport terminals, gradually restore air transport to contribute to economic development...
Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh answered a number of issues raised by ministries, sectors and aviation businesses; and directed a number of key priority tasks of the National Aviation Security Committee to restore and improve the quality of air transport services in 2022./.
