(Baonghean.vn) - With one month left until the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao 2023, businesses and establishments have prepared goods to supply to the market. According to records, goods are prepared in abundance, prices are stable, meeting people's consumption needs.

Proactively source goods to serve Tet market

Up to this point, shopping malls, supermarket systems, convenience stores... in the province have completed their plans and goods are being gathered at business locations; the supply of goods for Tet has increased 2-3 times compared to normal months. Many supermarkets and stores have also decorated their shopping spaces to be eye-catching, filled with the colors of Spring. People have begun to visit and shop for Tet.

Mr. Tran Anh Khang - Director of BigC Vinh supermarket said: According to the plan, our business expects sales to increase by about 30% compared to last year, and to achieve the plan, we have prepared, stocked and supplied goods for 2 months before and after Tet with the quantity increased by over 50%, the total value of goods is about 170-180 billion VND. The goods serve a variety of customer needs, targeting the consumer segment from middle class and above. Currently, the goods have been gathered and put on shelves to serve consumers.

“This year, the gift baskets have beautiful designs and a variety of types; many brands have renewed and changed their product designs… We are committed to not increasing the price of goods within 45 days before Tet, ensuring stable prices for people to shop for the Spring and Tet holiday” – Mr. Khang shared.

According to records, many supermarkets have reserved space at the entrance to display Tet-serving items, such as: gift baskets; soft drinks; candies, etc., to facilitate people's Tet shopping. In general, this year's economic situation is difficult, so many supermarkets have plans to reduce the proportion of high-end goods, instead increasing the source of quality goods at more affordable prices to serve the needs of the general public.

Supermarkets in the area such as BigC, Maximark, MM Mega Market Vinh... all committed to keeping prices stable, not adjusting prices during Tet, and at the same time implementing many promotional discount programs on many products to stimulate demand.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the total reserve of essential goods is about 1,000 billion VND, of which BigC supermarket is 180 billion VND, MM Mega Market Vinh supermarket is 60 billion VND, Winmart supermarket is 50 billion VND, Nam Long Company Limited is 50 billion VND, Agricultural Products Joint Stock Company is 29 billion VND, Thanh Nghe Tinh Company is 4 billion VND, petroleum centers are about 100 billion VND, retail stores and markets are more than 500 billion VND...

A few months ago, businesses and production facilities proactively researched the market, developed production plans, and reasonably stockpiled goods, supplies, and raw materials to maintain stable production and business activities to ensure the supply of goods to the market with good quality, reasonable prices, and ensuring food hygiene and safety.

Ms. Vo Thi Thao - Director of Nam Long Company Limited - a leading enterprise in Vinh city said that this year, the company has reserved a large amount of cooking oil with a value of over 30 billion VND; in addition to cooking oil, the company also prepared a large amount of instant noodles, white sugar, milk, etc. The total sales of Tet goods are about 50 billion VND, an increase of 20% compared to normal months. In addition, proactively exploiting agricultural products, food, traditional specialties of the provinces, diversifying goods (priority for Vietnamese goods) to serve the needs of Nghe An market at the end of the year, not allowing shortages of goods that push prices up.

Departments and branches proactively monitor Tet market

In order to serve the consumption needs of people during Tet, supermarkets have also proactively linked up and formed supply chains from production to circulation to ensure abundant and diverse sources of goods and stable prices. Units are committed to strictly complying with price registration and declaration for price-stabilized goods, goods on the price declaration list, diversifying distribution methods and approaches to consumers...

Pursuant to Resolution No. 143/NQ-CP dated November 4, 2022 of the Government, Directive No. 10/CT-BCT dated December 8, 2022 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on implementing solutions to ensure supply-demand balance, market stabilization at the end of 2022 and the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023, on December 19, the Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 10088/UBND-KT requesting departments, branches, units and localities to implement a number of key contents.

Accordingly, in order to effectively implement solutions to ensure supply-demand balance, stabilize the market before, during and after Tet, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance to advise on plans and plans to prepare goods and reserve essential goods to ensure market stability, supply and demand of goods in case of epidemics and serve the 2023 Lunar New Year; Coordinate with the State Bank - Nghe An Branch to support and connect enterprises producing and distributing essential goods with credit institutions in the area to access loans with preferential interest rates, in order to increase the reserve of goods to stabilize the market before, during and after Tet.

The Department of Industry and Trade urges and creates conditions for production and business enterprises to implement domestic trade promotion activities and consumer stimulus programs; has a priority mechanism and creates conditions for enterprises participating in the Price Stabilization Program to expand the distribution network of goods to densely populated areas, industrial parks, suburban districts, remote areas, islands, etc. to increase access to stabilized goods for disadvantaged people, low- and middle-income people; Focus on organizing sales trips of essential goods, serving the 2023 Lunar New Year to provide early and adequate supply to people, especially rural areas, mountainous areas and areas damaged by storms and floods with sufficient quantity, reasonable prices, and guaranteed quality.

Mr. Cao Minh Tu - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: Before Tet, we proactively monitor and evaluate the supply and demand of goods, especially essential goods, goods with high demand or high price fluctuations in the area. At the same time, we have plans to ensure balance of supply and demand, stabilize the market, and prevent shortages and disruptions in supply that cause sudden price increases, especially during peak times.

The Department of Industry and Trade coordinates with the Provincial Market Management Department and relevant authorities to strengthen market inspection and control, promptly inspect, detect and strictly handle violations of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, production and trading of poor quality goods, not ensuring food safety and hygiene, violations of prices, speculation, hoarding, spreading false information about the market, etc.

In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant agencies and localities closely monitor the production situation, disease developments, especially African swine fever, assess supply capacity, propose solutions to ensure supply, stabilize the market of essential agricultural and food products in general and pork in particular when necessary for the market during the Lunar New Year 2023, and coordinate goods when there is a shortage or disruption of goods. For goods at risk of strong fluctuations in supply, timely information is needed and consumers are advised to use alternative products to ensure supply and demand and stabilize prices.
