Nghe An changes the purpose of using more than 25 hectares of forest to carry out 4 important projects.
Nghe An Provincial People's Council has approved the policy of changing the use of more than 25 hectares of forest to other purposes to implement four important projects, affecting the socio-economic development of localities as well as the province.
In the forest area converted for use purposes, there are nearly 1 hectare of protective forest; 6,9542 hectares of natural production forest; 12,98699 hectares of planted production forest; 1,069 hectares of natural forest other than the three types of forest; 3,08744 hectares of planted forest other than the three types of forest.
The change of forest use purpose to implement 4 projects: Khe Rat Reservoir Construction Project, Hung Son Commune, Anh Son District; Bai Lu Eco-tourism Area Project; Suoi Choang Hydropower Plant Project (area in the reservoir area); Investment Project to exploit landfill in Hamlet 22, Quynh Vinh Commune, Hoang Mai Town.
The Khe Rat Reservoir Construction Project aims to ensure stable irrigation for about 335 hectares of agricultural land, 200 hectares of tea trees, 100 hectares of fertile land and provide domestic water for 250 households in Hung Son commune.
In addition, the project contributes to improving the ecological environment in the area, creating a highlight for developing eco-tourism and community tourism in Anh Son district in general and Hung Son commune in particular, contributing to promoting the local socio-economy.
Bai Lu Ecotourism Area Project is implemented in Nghi Yen Commune and Nghi Tien Commune in Dong Nam Economic Zone. After the project comes into operation, it will form a modern, classy ecotourism area serving the needs of relaxation and entertainment of domestic and international tourists, creating jobs and increasing income of local people, increasing budget revenue, promoting economic development in particular and of Nghe An province in general.
Suoi Choang Hydropower Plant Project (part of the reservoir area) is located in Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district. When put into effective operation, Suoi Choang Hydropower Plant will contribute to ensuring energy security in the national power system as well as serving the local economic and social development.
The Investment Project on exploiting and exploiting landfill soil in village 22, Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town is very necessary to implement to provide landfill soil for constructions and projects in Hoang Mai town and surrounding areas.
