(Baonghean.vn) - These are individuals and groups representing Nghe An youth who have had many achievements and contributions in volunteer work for the development of the community and society.
National Volunteer Awardorganized annually by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in coordination with the United Nations Volunteers Program. The award is given to groups and individuals with outstanding contributions and achievements in volunteer work for community life, making practical contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
In 2021, Nghe An youth had 2 individuals in the top 50 outstanding individuals receiving the National Volunteer Award, including: Nguyen Thi Ha Giang (born in 1989) - Member of the Executive Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, Deputy Secretary of Vinh University Youth Union; Lo Khanh Khang (born in 1989) - Secretary of Ky Son District Treasury Youth Union, Head of Ky Son Volunteer Club, Vice President of Ky Son District Youth Union. For Lo Khanh Khang, in more than 3 years of volunteering, he has mobilized to build 3 charity houses worth 70 million VND each; called for the construction of 2 schools worth nearly 1 billion VND; provided monthly support for 16 children in especially difficult circumstances, and donated dozens of bicycles and wheelchairs to disadvantaged and disabled students.
Since October 2018, Khang has also mobilized philanthropists to maintain the charity rice and porridge distribution activities for poor patients. Each session distributes from 170 to 200 free meals. The total budget for this activity in the past 3 years is worth nearly 120 million VND.
In the movement to support the prevention of Covid-19, Lo Khanh Khang directly mobilized and called for support of more than: 6,000 masks, 500 protective suits, 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and necessities to support the people of Chieu Luu commune to prevent Covid-19; helped 69 families in difficult circumstances with a total donation of over 650 million VND.

Nguyen Thi Ha Giang is the one who directly proposed the idea and implemented the Communication and Community Support Model on Covid-19 Prevention. To date, she has produced and installed more than 200 automatic sterilization machines and more than 600 liters of antibacterial hand sanitizer to serve the community.
Ha Giang directly directed the establishment of volunteer student teams to give more than 500 gifts and necessities to international students and students in the blockaded areas in the area; Online consulting, online tutoring, livestream consulting and support to fix online problems; Computer Rescue Team supports repairing broken computers to "turn old into new", bringing the best computers to students in the highlands; SVTN English teaching team opens 10 free classes for disadvantaged children in the area. Mobilizing the implementation of 2 typical youth projects: Sports training area at Vinh University's 2nd campus and the project of Lighting up the countryside in Nghi My commune, Nghi Loc district with a total value of 250 million VND.

Collectively, the Vinh City Volunteer Pickup Club was established in October 2019 under Decision No. 26-QD/UBH dated October 15, 2019 of the Vinh City Youth Union Committee. The club has 21 members with the Chairman being Mr. Tran Quang Nhat - Vice Chairman of the Vinh City Youth Union Committee.
Since its establishment, the Club has supported the Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union of Vinh City to organize many large volunteer programs and activities. Specifically, it supported the transportation and supply of more than 20 tons of food for the people of Vinh City during the period of isolation and social distancing to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic according to Directive 16 and enhanced Directive 16 of the Prime Minister; supported the transportation of medical equipment and necessities for Field Hospital No. 1 (in Hung Nguyen) and Field Hospital No. 4 (in Cua Lo) in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in Nghe An province.
The club also organized two programs "Warm Winter 2019 - Volunteer Spring 2020" and "Warm Winter 2020 - Volunteer Spring 2021", giving away nearly 400 new warm uniforms, 21 gifts worth more than 20 million VND and organizing free medical examinations and medicine for nearly 600 people. The total value of the program is more than 120 million VND.
