Due to the steep and complex mountainous terrain with numerous small rivers and streams, the risk of landslides at the aforementioned locations during the rainy season is always at high alert. In response to this, Nghe An province, in coordination with relevant agencies, has installed rain gauges and issued warnings about rainfall levels that could cause flash floods at border guard posts and centers of communes at high risk of flash floods. Simultaneously, efforts are being made to enhance basic knowledge and skills in flash flood prevention for commune officials and residents.

The People's Committees and Steering Committees for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control of the districts actively guide the People's Committees of the communes in developing flood and storm prevention and control plans, focusing on key areas; instructing people in high-risk areas to be prepared for self-evacuation when heavy rain occurs; and preparing and stockpiling food and supplies before storms to support families affected and damaged by natural disasters.
