Nghe An has a doctor who has been honored as an outstanding physician, medical officer, and healthcare official nationwide.
(Baonghean.vn) - This is a meaningful activity to commemorate the 68th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2023).
On the morning of February 23rd, at the Presidential Palace, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presided over the ceremony honoring thedoctors, healthcare workersOutstanding individuals were present. Also attending were Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan and 120 delegates, including outstanding doctors, officials, and civil servants from the health sector nationwide who have achieved excellent results in protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people.
At the ceremony, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan extended her best wishes and profound gratitude to the team of doctors, officials, and staff of the health sector.

The Acting President affirmed that the Party and State have always cared for, led, directed, and invested in the health sector, especially in the institutional field with the recent completion of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment. With the attention of the Party and State, the efforts of the entire sector, and the support of the whole society, the health sector has continuously developed in all aspects. Currently, the entire sector has 500,000 medical staff, doctors, and nurses with increasingly high quality and professional qualifications, many experts on par with the world.
Recalling President Ho Chi Minh's teachings to the health sector 68 years ago, the Acting President emphasized that over the years, the health sector has always effectively implemented President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, striving to improve the professional skills and qualities of medical professionals and overcoming all difficulties and hardships to care for and protect the health of the people. The Covid-19 pandemic was a test for the health sector, for the capabilities and qualities of medical professionals, from which important lessons were learned to improve the system, enhance the quality of staff and medical professionals, and create new spirit and motivation for the development of the country's medical field in the future.

To achieve the goal of developing a prosperous and happy country, especially the goal of becoming a developed country by 2045, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan believes that the quality of human resources is extremely important, including the quality of human resources in the medical field.
Therefore, the health sector needs to continue to cultivate and develop human resources, especially in the context of the world and the country facing epidemics, including new and unprecedented diseases that threaten human lives and health.
The Acting President urged the medical sector, healthcare facilities, training institutions, and applied research institutions to continuously research new scientific and technical advancements, contributing to improving professional skills and building a high-quality workforce to meet the healthcare needs of the people in the new situation.
Alongside this, attention should be paid to Party building, state management, and governance through training to improve the quality and capacity of the industry's human resources. Continued efforts should be made to improve institutional policies so that the healthcare sector, including both public and private healthcare, can leverage its strengths, mobilize social resources for investment, and thereby improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, meeting the needs of the people.

At this meeting, Nghe An province is honored to have Dr. Nguyen Ba Tan, Head of the Population and Family Planning Sub-Department, as the only representative of the Population and Health sector selected by the General Department of Population and Family Planning for this honor.
Speaking at the gathering, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, on behalf of the Ministry of Health leadership, extended her deepest gratitude and appreciation to colleagues, healthcare workers, and all officials and employees of the health sector throughout the years for their contributions to the building and development of the health sector.
