Nghe An has great potential to develop the Logistics industry.
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the affirmation of Ms. Dam Tu Hong - Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi province during the survey of the commercial transport route along the corridor of the countries: China - Vietnam - Laos and Thailand.
Within the framework of this research and survey trip, the Guangxi provincial delegation led by Ms. Dam Tu Hong - Deputy Director of the Guangxi Provincial Department of Commerce had a working session at the Department of Foreign Affairs of Nghe An province on the afternoon of April 26.
Also attending the meeting, on the side of Guangxi province, there were representatives of foreign economic cooperation agencies, markets, corporations and enterprises operating in the logistics sector.
On Nghe An province side, there were representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Border Guard Command, the Departments of Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment, Transport, and Customs Department.
At the working session, the delegation of Guangxi province was provided with some basic information about the socio-economic situation of Nghe An province, the potentials and advantages of the locality located in the center of North Central Vietnam.

Nghe An is also a province that has cooperative relations with Hunan and Guangxi provinces (China). In 2017, Nghe An's export turnover to China reached nearly 55 million USD. In the first quarter of 2018, it reached nearly 90 million USD.
Import turnover from China to Nghe An in 2017 reached nearly 131 million USD, mainly machinery and equipment, production materials, phone components, chemicals. In the first quarter of 2018, it reached nearly 15 million USD. Up to now, in Nghe An, there are 8 projects invested by Chinese investors with a capital of 102.36 million USD, operating in the fields of animal feed production, construction materials, wood processing, etc.

Regarding the logistics transport situation, Nghe An currently has 16 national highways running through the area with a total length of 1,768 km and 32 provincial roads with a total length of 662.1 km. The transport system and essential infrastructure include: roads, railways, airways, seaports and warehouse systems, and transportation services that meet the requirements. In addition to 1 Nam Can international border gate, Nghe An also has 1 main border gate, 3 secondary border gates and 4 openings on the border area with Laos. These are favorable conditions for the development of the logistics sector in the area.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Dam Tu Hong - Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi province said that Guangxi is a province with a border and a long-standing trade relationship with Vietnam. Currently, many enterprises from Guangxi province are investing in Vietnam, of which in 2017, the turnover reached 2 billion USD.
Ms. Dam Tu Hong also affirmed that when coming to Nghe An this time, the delegation focused on surveying and paying attention to the logistics service corridor system on the Guangxi - Hanoi - Vinh route before connecting with Laos and Thailand in the East-West economic corridor.

The Deputy Director of the Guangxi Department of Commerce also highly appreciated the transportation system and infrastructure of Nghe An province. In particular, she said that in Nghe An, the road running parallel to the railway is a very favorable condition for the development of transportation services. In addition, the border gates, seaport clusters, airports, warehouses and wharves in Nghe An basically meet the requirements of the logistics industry. This is also essential to open up opportunities for trade development, increasing export turnover between the two provinces and the two countries.
