Nghe An has more priority projects under the Climate Change Support Program

The Prime Minister agreed to add two projects in Ninh Thuan and Nghe An provinces to the list of priority projects under the Climate Change Response Support Program.

2 additional projects include: Project on combined water-forestry system to prevent desertification and adapt to climate change in Ninh Phuoc district and Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province and Project on building sea dykes and planting wave-breaking trees in Dong Hoi area, Quynh Lap, Quynh Phuong, Quynh Lien communes, Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies to synthesize the above projects into the medium-term investment plan for the 2016-2020 period of the Climate Change Response and Green Growth Program in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Investment and current regulations.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, and Finance to review the scale and content of projects under the Climate Change Response Support Program to ensure feasibility and suitability with the ability to balance capital sources for the 2016-2020 period, avoiding scattered investment.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will negotiate and reach consensus with localities on technical solutions of the Projects, unit prices and investment levels for the afforestation component, ensuring the goals and investment efficiency of the Climate Change Response Support Program.
