Nghe An has over 57% of fishing boats 67 in bad debt
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An has 104 fishing boats built under the support policy of Decree 67/CP. However, up to now, 60 of them (accounting for 57.69%) are in bad debt due to ineffective operations.
Quynh Luu district is the locality with the number of newly built fishing boats under the support policy of the Government.Decree 67/CPthe most in the province, with 52 ships. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh - Vice Chairman of Quynh Luu District People's Committee said that after many years of operation, as of June 2022, 26 ships have basically paid their debts, the rest are operating inefficiently, with long-term debts, of which 6 ship owners have been sued in court.

"Many ship owners and their relatives are at risk of losing their homes due to the debt of ship 67. District and commune levels cannot help the fishermen. Therefore, superiors need to soon have a fundamental solution to remove difficulties for fishermen," Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh worried.
According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development,Nghe AnThere are 104 fishing vessels built under the support policy of Decree 67/CP, with a total disbursed amount of VND 859,999 billion. As of June 20, 2022, 4 vessels that encountered risks (fire, sinking) have paid off the loan.
The number of ships operating effectively and paying principal/interest as committed is 35 ships (accounting for 33.65%), with outstanding debt of VND 143,811 billion; The number of ships operating ineffectively and unable to pay principal/interest as committed is 5 ships (accounting for 4.8%), with outstanding debt of VND 44,83 billion. The number of ships transferred to bad debt is 60 ships (accounting for 57.69%) with a total bad debt value of VND 418,254 billion, accounting for 68.26% of the total outstanding loan under Decree 67.

Of the total 60 ships in the bad debt group, 43 ships were sued by banks or the enforcement agency to recover capital for the bank due to failure to repay loans or violating the provisions of the credit contract. Of these, 6 ships were successfully auctioned.
