(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 26th, a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training held a working session with the Provincial Steering Committee for Combating Illiteracy and Building a Learning Society to finalize the plan and program for inspecting and certifying the universalization of preschool education for 5-year-old children in Nghe An province.

Implementing the Project on Universal Preschool Education for 5-Year-Old Children in the period 2010-2015, Nghe An province has focused on investing in facilities and equipment for schools; promoting social mobilization and attracting resources for the implementation of universal preschool education for 5-year-old children in the area. Over the five years, the budget invested in building facilities for preschools reached over 880 billion VND.

Currently, all 21 districts, cities, and towns in the province have achieved the standard for universal preschool education for 5-year-old children (reaching 100%), the rate of 5-year-old children attending school is 99.85%, and the rate of communes and wards recognized is 95.2%.

During the working session, members of the inspection team from the Ministry of Education and Training requested the Department of Education and Training to explain several issues such as: child standards; facilities; the number of groups of children eating meals at school; the allocation of teachers for 5-year-old kindergarten classes according to staffing quotas… in the work of universal preschool education for 5-year-old children.

According to the plan, from April 27-29, the inspection team will conduct on-site inspections of preschool education for 5-year-old children at 12 units located in disadvantaged mountainous areas, more favorable areas of cities and towns, and lowland districts.
