Nghe An: Police reenact the crime scene of a grandmother confessing to killing her 6th grade grandchild

On the evening of November 8, Mr. Nguyen Duy Cuong - Head of Hau Thanh Commune Police (Yen Thanh District) said that on the afternoon of the same day, Yen Thanh District Police and the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province Police took Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (born in 1954, residing in Hau Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District) to Bau Ganh Dam (Hau Thanh Commune) to reconstruct the crime scene according to Ms. Huong's statement that she murdered her 6th grade grandson.

“There were so many people coming to watch that we had to protect them from the outside, not allowing them to go inside so that the police could re-enact the crime scene. Based on Ms. Huong's testimony, we re-enacted and reconstructed the crime scene. Ms. Huong's attitude was quite calm, her face was cold as ice... Yesterday and today, Ms. Huong's husband and son also came up to provide some information" - Mr. Cuong added.
It is known that the field experiment took place from 2pm to 4pm to complete. Mrs. Huong was taken to the place where she met and picked up her grandchild until she killed her grandchild.

As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, on the afternoon of November 3, Nguyen Thi Tam (6th grade student, residing in Yen Thanh district) - granddaughter of Mrs. Huong went to attend a friend's birthday party. At around 4:30 p.m., Tam left early because her house was far away and she was afraid it would get dark. However, by the evening of the same day, her relatives still did not see Tam return, so they organized a search for her.
During the search, relatives discovered Tam’s hat and coat at the foot of Bau Ganh irrigation dam, with an electric bicycle on the shore. Suspecting that Tam had drowned, local people and police went to Bau Ganh dam to search but could not find him. On the morning of November 5, his body was discovered floating on Bau Ganh dam.
Extracting from the camera of the people on the roadside, the police recorded the time when Tam came back from the birthday party and met Mrs. Huong. After that, Mrs. Huong parked her bike and asked Tam to take her.
Nghe An Police Department said that according to Mrs. Huong’s statement, the main reason for her killing her grandson was due to family conflicts. Mrs. Huong is currently being held in criminal detention for further investigation.
