Speaking more about the structure of the 10th grade entrance exam, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of the Secondary Education Department (Department of Education and Training) said: The content of the 10th grade entrance exam this year is within the scope of the Middle School Program, mainly the 9th grade program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
In particular, the content of the test is instructed to be "not taught"; "not done"; "read more", "self-study with guidance" in Official Dispatch No. 5842/BGDĐT-VP dated September 1, 2011 of the Ministry of Education and Training on instructions for adjusting the content of general education teaching.

No test for the content instructed to "not teach/do/do...", "encourage self-study (read/do/do...), "self-study with guidance (read/do/do...)" for the 9th grade program in Official Dispatch No. 1113/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated March 30, 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training on instructions for adjusting the content of semester II, school year 2019-2020 (for Literature subject only, in addition to the above requirements, no test for local program content and foreign literature).
However, to ensure the classification of students, the exam will have differentiated questions to select qualified candidates to enter top schools and serve as a basis for admission to specialized schools in the province.
The test requires 4 levels: recognition, understanding, application and high application. Of which, the recognition and understanding levels account for 50 - 60% of the total score, the application and high application levels account for 40 - 50% of the total score.
Regarding the sample exam of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, this year there is an additional exam of Informatics for candidates registering for the school's Informatics specialized class, instead of just taking the Math exam like previous years.
