According to the list announced this year, in Vinh city, besides specialized schools, Huynh Thuc Khang High School is the only school that does not accept second and third choices.

The school leaders said that the reason why Huynh Thuc High School refused to accept more applicants is because for many years now, the school's admission score has been very high (5-6 points higher than the second school). Therefore, if there is a shortage of students, the school will give priority to students who have applied to the school and may lower the admission score.

In the remaining schools, the opportunities for candidates to register for NV2 and NV3 in public schools are not many because these schools only enroll NV1 students. For example, in Thanh Chuong district, 5 public schools of the district such as Thanh Chuong 1 High School, Dang Thuc Hua High School... only consider candidates registering for NV1. Similarly, in Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, and Hung Nguyen districts, public schools also do not consider candidates registering for NV2 and NV3.

Candidates who want to register additional wishes only have the opportunity to register for non-public schools, Continuing Education Centers and some high schools located quite far from the central area.

Regarding the 10th grade entrance exam, according to the plan, from May 11 to 13, candidates will complete their application and each candidate can register up to 3 wishes. However, up to this point, the Department has not had any enrollment plans for the schools, so candidates have had difficulty in choosing a school to apply to.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training has also announced the enrollment quota for Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. Accordingly, this year, enrollment into the school is combined with the 10th grade entrance exam and goes through 2 rounds, the first preliminary round and the second entrance exam.

Candidates will take the exam in Math, Literature, Foreign Language and one specialized subject. Of which, Math and Literature are based on the results of the 10th grade entrance exam. According to the approved plan, this year Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted cannot enroll more than 455 students. The school will enroll 11 specialized classes (each class has no more than 35 students) and 2 specialized classes in the fields of Natural Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Foreign Languages ​​(English, Japanese), each class has no more than 35 students.
