(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 20, the Department of Health held a ceremony to announce the master plan for medicinal plant development in Nghe An province until 2025 and orientation to 2030.

The planning was built with the goal of planning the conservation area of ​​rare and endemic medicinal plants of Nghe An province and the exploitation area of ​​natural medicinal plants, medicinal plant cultivation area according to market demand. And from there, it aims to develop medicinal materials into a large commodity production industry, gradually increase the proportion of medicinal materials of domestic origin, gradually proactively ensure the supply of adequate types and quantities of medicinal materials for medical examination and treatment while increasing income, improving people's lives, especially ethnic minorities.

Based on the assessment of natural and social conditions and the current status of medicinal plant development in the province, the "Master plan for medicinal plant development in Nghe An province to 2025 and orientation to 2030" strives to: Preserve 38 medicinal plant species with a total area of ​​15 hectares in 3 conservation areas: Lien Hop (Quy Hop), Hanh Dich (Que Phong), Muong Long (Ky Son); Exploit 17 species and groups of medicinal plants in 13 districts and towns with an expected annual output of about 900 tons; build concentrated medicinal plant growing areas of 14 species and groups of medicinal plants with a total area of ​​905 hectares in 11 districts and towns.

At the same time, the plan also sets out goals, tasks and solutions to preserve and develop medicinal herbs in Nghe An province in the coming time. The total planned area for medicinal herb cultivation is 905 hectares, divided into 3 regions: high mountainous region including Ky Son, Que Phong, Quy Hop districts with a total area of ​​520 hectares; medium mountainous region with an area of ​​100 hectares in the districts and towns: Con Cuong, Ky Son, Que Phong, Tuong Duong; Lowland and plain areas in Nghi Loc, Nghia Dan, Tan Ky, Yen Thanh districts and Hoang Mai town, with an area of ​​about 285 hectares.
