Due to the steep terrain, sand and gravel are only gathered at the foot of the slope after being purchased. Then people have to put them in buckets to carry them to the concrete pouring location. Seeing that road construction was very necessary, every household enthusiastically participated, many with 2-3 people. Mrs. Kha Thi Khuyen (1944) shared: “I am old and cannot carry the children up the steep slope anymore, but I still come here to help the children scoop sand and gravel into the basket. |

While women carried sand and gravel, men mixed and poured concrete for the roadbed. Each person had their own job, no one told anyone, but everyone had the responsibility to quickly complete their work. |
