Nghe An won third prize in the National Medical Waste Management Competition.
(Baonghean.vn) - August 31,Center for Preventive MedicineNghe An participated in the National Finals of the Competition on Learning about Waste Management and Environmental Protection in Healthcare Activities organized by the Ministry of Health and won the Third Prize.
After 2 months of launching nationwide, the contest received 244 entries from officials working in medical facilities, state management units; and students and lecturers in the fields of Medicine, Pharmacy, Natural Resources and Environment.

Previously, at the Final round held in Hai Phong (Northern region) and in Can Tho (Southern region), the Jury awarded 2 First prizes, 2 Second prizes and 2 Third prizes in each region.
In the Northern region, the team of Central Lung Hospital and Nghe An Preventive Medicine Center won the First Prize and in the Southern region, the team of Long An General Hospital and Bong Son Hospital - Binh Dinh won the First Prize.
Today, in the National Finals, there are 4 teams competing directly (2 teams won First Prize in the Northern region including Nghe An and 2 teams won First Prize in the Southern region).
As a result, Nghe An Provincial Preventive Medicine Center won the third national prize. The first prize went to the team from the Central Lung Hospital.
The Medical Waste Management Competition is organized to actively contribute to reducing environmental pollution from medical waste.
The contest also aims to raise awareness and change the behavior of current and future staff working in the health sector; leaders at all levels, media agencies and the community on waste management and environmental protection in health activities.
