Nghe An aims to establish 50 new cooperatives
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2018, the Provincial Cooperative Union strives to advise on the establishment of over 50 new cooperatives and provide vocational training for workers, creating jobs for over 1,400 people.
This information was given at the 2017 year-end conference and 2018 task deployment of the Provincial Cooperative Union on the afternoon of December 27. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of districts, cooperatives, enterprises, and craft villages in Nghe An province attended the conference.

In 2017, the province had 20 newly established cooperative groups, increasing the number of cooperative groups in the province to 2,951; the cooperative groups attracted 35,086 members to work with an income of about 3 - 3.5 million/worker/month, especially workers in fishing cooperatives reaching 9 - 10 million VND/month.
In 2017, the Cooperative Union advised on the establishment of 2 Cooperative Unions (Nghe An Cooperative Union for Production and Consumption of Safe Agricultural Products and Food and Nghe An General Cooperative Union). Although newly established, the Cooperative Unions have operated effectively, proactively linking to produce safe products, ensuring the health of consumers in and outside the province. They are the focal point for consuming quality agricultural products and food for cooperatives and cooperatives in Nghe An province.
In 2017, 60 new cooperatives were established. Of which, 50 were agricultural cooperatives, 8 were non-agricultural cooperatives and 2 were people's credit funds. Some localities directed the establishment of new cooperatives with high results such as Nghia Dan, Thai Hoa, Nam Dan, Vinh City. Up to now, the whole province has 632 cooperatives, of which 453 are agricultural service cooperatives; 120 are non-agricultural cooperatives, 59 credit funds.

The work of advising, participating in the development and implementation of the Party's Resolutions and Directives, policies and coordinating with departments, boards, branches and localities on collective economic development is of interest to the Provincial Cooperative Union, focusing on timely and effective implementation. The Union focuses on vocational training for workers, training of cooperative management staff, consulting, supporting, developing craft villages, craft villages...

However, in 2017, the cooperative economic sector, cooperatives and craft villages still faced many difficulties such as storms, floods and unpredictable climate change; especially the direct impact of storms No. 2 and 10 and floods causing damage to people, property and infrastructure; the outbreak of diseases on crops and livestock has affected the lives, production and business of cooperatives and craft villages...
In 2018, the Cooperative Union will carry out key tasks, striving to advise on the establishment of 50 - 70 new cooperatives, 1 - 2 Cooperative Unions. Mobilize and develop members from 30 - 40 units. Focus on training professional skills for cooperative management staff for 800 - 1000 people...
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong acknowledged and praised the contributions of the Provincial Cooperative Union to the overall achievements of the province in 2017. In addition to the achieved results, comrade Dinh Viet Hong requested the Cooperative Union to direct cooperatives to improve their management and technical skills, focusing on building new cooperative models in localities.
