Nghe An promotes communication and mobilizes farmers to treat waste
Implementing the project "Propaganda and mobilizing farmers to treat waste in Vietnam, contributing to the international community's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions", Nghe An has built and replicated more than 5,780 models applying waste treatment techniques.

On the morning of December 17, Nghe An Farmers' Association held a media conference to evaluate the implementation of the project "Propaganda and mobilization of farmers to treat waste in Vietnam, contributing to the international community's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions".

The project "Propaganda and mobilization of farmers to treat waste in Vietnam, contributing to the international community's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions" in Nghe An province, implemented in 11 communes of 3 districts: Nam Dan, Do Luong, Thai Hoa town.
In the past time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association has directed the Farmers' Associations of Do Luong, Nam Dan districts and Thai Hoa town to organize and implement communication activities of the project, achieving many positive results.

In the province, there are 35 TOT source lecturers who are district and commune Farmers' Association officials participating in the project's training courses, organizing 38 training courses on environmentally friendly waste treatment techniques for 1,140 farmer members, establishing 11 green future preservation groups with 550 members participating, building and replicating more than 5,780 models applying waste treatment techniques in the area.
The activities contribute to strongly spreading the movement "Together to effectively handle waste today for the prosperity of the community tomorrow" in the locality.

Thereby, creating motivation to promote the movement of farmers participating in developing production and business towards sustainable ecology. Activities are recognized by Party committees and authorities at all levels, highly appreciating the role of farmers' associations at all levels in directing, guiding and supporting farmer members to participate in developing agriculture, rural economy and building new rural areas associated with protecting the rural environment.
At the conference, delegates discussed and shared experiences and good practices in the process of implementing project activities (techniques for raising chickens on biological bedding; techniques for fermenting crop by-products for animal feed; techniques for composting organic fertilizers from crop by-products; techniques for raising calcium worms; techniques for raising earthworms).
At the same time, delegates discussed and proposed solutions to promote communication activities on the effectiveness of the project's activities in the coming time. From there, it will spread more and more strongly to farmer households in the province, contributing to raising awareness, changing people's habits and behaviors in waste treatment in an environmentally friendly direction.
