Nghe An recommends people across the province install Bluezone application to prevent and fight Covid-19

On August 6, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Document No. 5206/UBND-TH on the implementation of Bluezone application in the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic to provincial departments, branches, unions; People's Committees of districts, cities, towns; Provincial Business Association; People's Committees of communes, wards, towns...

Bluezone is an application that quickly tracks people at risk of Covid-19 infection, and warns users if they come into close contact with someone infected with Covid-19. In addition, the application will also request permission to access the user's location and access some user information (allowing this access does not cause loss of data because the application does not collect this information) so that if the person you come into contact with or there is any new case of Covid-19 infection, the application will immediately send information to you.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requests: Directors of Departments, heads of provincial-level departments, branches and units; Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, cities and towns; Chairmen of People's Committees of communes, wards and towns require all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in their units who have smartphones to install the Bluezone application, and at the same time disseminate, mobilize and instruct relatives to install and use the application. Agencies and units send people to record activities entering and exiting the headquarters, recommending people coming to work to install and use the application.

The Department of Tourism directs establishments, organizations, and businesses providing tourism services, travel, accommodation, restaurants, hotels, etc. in the province to disseminate and recommend customers to install and use the Bluezone application; tourists coming to the area need to immediately receive a notification to install and use the Bluezone application.

The Department of Health directed hospitals and medical centers in the province to disseminate and instruct patients and their relatives to install and use the Bluezone application when coming for medical examination and treatment. The Provincial Business Association requested businesses in the province to disseminate and recommend that employees at their units install and use the Bluezone application.

Bluezone is an application that exploits low-energy Bluetooth positioning technology, similar to the technology that Apple and Google jointly developed last April. Smartphones with this application will exchange signals with each other within a distance of two meters and save contact logs, regardless of whether they are Android phones or iPhones.

When a new Covid-19 case is detected, the patient’s contact history will be sent to smartphones for comparison. If a match is found, the user will receive a warning about the risk of infection.

Every 15 minutes, the user's Bluezone code will automatically change to ensure privacy. Therefore, 2 people who have installed Bluezone and are close to each other for 15 minutes will be counted as one contact. However, if you do not see any warning from the application, you can rest assured that the people you come into contact with are not infected with Covid-19. Bluezone also does not save the contact location, so users can rest assured about the security of personal information.
