Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Deputy Director of Department of TransportNghe Ansaid: "The citizen pick-up point at Ben Thuy 2 bridge was set up in early August 2021. However, due to the large number of citizens returning recently, the forces had to set up a point on the road along Quyet mountain to avoid congestion and overload. Up to now, the number of citizens returning has gradually decreased, so we were directed to return to Ben Thuy 2 bridge to continue performing our duties."
At Ben Thuy 2 bridge, all forces including the Department of Transport inspectors, health workers, police, soldiers, the Provincial Military Command, youth union members... are still maintained to support citizens returning home.
People arriving at this point are still allowed to rest, receive food and necessities, and make full health declarations; Nghe An province will arrange vehicles to transport people and vehicles to each quarantined locality according to regulations.

It is known that in recent days, the number of people returning home from the South has gradually decreased, on October 16 alone there were only less than 200 people (previously the peak day fluctuated from 1,000 - 1,500 people).
Explaining this issue, Mr. Hai commented: "Currently, means of transport such as railways and airlines have gradually recovered, people have more choices instead of having to travel by motorbike in recent days. In addition, the Covid-19 epidemic in the southern provinces is gradually being controlled, social distancing is being loosened, and production activities are gradually being restored, so many people have stayed to work instead of returning to their hometowns as planned..."./.
