Following the success of the previous 8 Conferences, within the framework of the Meeting with Investors in Spring Dinh Dau 2017, on the afternoon of February 18, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee organized a Dialogue Workshop with FDI enterprises on the province's investment policies.
Attending the conference were Mr. Craig Chittick - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Vietnam; Mr. Truong Dinh Tuyen - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Trade, former Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, representatives of leaders of departments, branches, companies and related organizations of the province. In particular, there is the presence of FDI investors interested in learning about the investment environment in Nghe An such as Hemaraj, Mavin Australia, TKV Korea, VSIP Nghe An, Goldstar, Tan Viet Trung, etc. |
Welcoming FDI enterprises to attend the dialogue, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa said that determined to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress with the policy of focusing all resources on investment and development, prioritizing the development of internal resources and attaching importance to attracting external resources; improving the investment and business environment, creating all favorable conditions for enterprises to invest in production and business, promoting socio-economic development, Nghe An continues to call for and attract investment projects.

The areas of focus include: Southeast Economic Zone, industrial parks, key growth poles of the province such as: Vinh, Cua Lo, Nam Thanh Bac Nghe, Nam Nghe Bac Ha, Western Nghe An.
“With the motto “Government accompanies businesses, the success of businesses is also the success of the province”, Nghe An hopes to receive frank and enthusiastic comments from delegates and investors with the goal of building Nghe An as an attractive destination for investors”, he emphasized.
Nghe An especially encourages calling for FDI projects in the fields of: IT, electronics, high-tech industrial projects in agriculture and industry, supporting industry; agricultural and forestry processing projects to help increase production value, added value of product chains; connecting investors, farmers and markets. |
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong - Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) highly appreciated Nghe An for organizing 8 conferences in a very open and frank manner with investors, considering this an opportunity for businesses to learn more specifically about Nghe An's investment environment. He said that through the survey, many businesses highly appreciated Nghe An's determination to improve the investment and business environment, reflected in the provincial competitiveness index being higher year after year.

The Vice President of VCCI asked businesses to boldly discuss the problems they are facing, and expressed his hope that investors will consider this a forum to offer advice on developing the business environment in Nghe An in particular and Vietnam in general.
Sharing the above viewpoint, former Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, former Minister of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen emphasized the advantages of Nghe An and analyzed two issues that Nghe An needs to solve in the coming time.
“First, we must further improve the business environment. There is no reason why Nghe An is not in the top of the country in terms of provincial competitiveness index. I suggest that Nghe An strives to move up to the top of the region, then the top 10 of the country,” he said.

The former Minister of Trade also expressed the view that Nghe An needs to pay attention to agricultural projects, promote agricultural restructuring towards large-scale production, apply high technology, value chains, catch up with the strong development trend, create many clean products from fields, farms to dining tables as committed by some FDI investors.
In an open and frank spirit, representatives of FDI enterprises that have been investing in the area, as well as investors who are exploring and learning about the province's investment environment, raised issues that need to be answered by Nghe An's departments and branches.

Companies and corporations such as Mavin, Hemaraj, Cargill, etc. expressed special interest in the province's preferential policies for investment in areas such as breeding technology, animal science research centers serving the development of high-tech agriculture, etc. FDI enterprises also want to have more information about the plans and progress of infrastructure investment of expressway projects from Ninh Binh to Vinh, direct flights from Vinh to Bangkok, high-speed railways, deep-water ports, etc. and frankly give comments on the advantages and limitations of the quality of services provided in industrial parks.
Representatives of the province's functional agencies directly clarified issues that investors were concerned about, providing details of incentives that Nghe An has been and is providing to investment partners. The province also appreciates and accepts constructive comments and assessments from FDI enterprises, considering them as a basis for the province to make further efforts to improve the investment attraction environment, practically accompanying enterprises in the coming time./.
