Nghe An puts some new crops into production in the 2019 winter crop
(Baonghean.vn) - At the Workshop to collect opinions from agencies, localities, experts and scientists to contribute to the 2019 Winter Crop Production Project held on the afternoon of July 30, the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development proposed adding potatoes to the list of winter crops and genetically modified corn to the main varieties.
Annual winter crop production in localities in the province, in addition to contributing to the completion of food output targets, also brings in economic value of more than 2,181 billion VND. Winter crop production has shifted towards cultivation towards increasing product value.

Many crop models have been put into production on large areas with high economic efficiency and models linked with businesses have created a driving force to promote the development of winter crop production.
At the workshop, delegates contributed ideas on advantages, difficulties, shortcomings, limitations, objective and subjective causes as well as directions, tasks and solutions for winter crop production in 2019.

Comrade Nguyen Van Lap - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development proposed to add potatoes to the list of winter crops and genetically modified corn to the main varieties. Assign the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection to collect the opinions of delegates to complete the Project; Advise the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to submit to the Provincial People's Committee to decide on policies to support farmers in winter crop production.
At the same time, assign tasks to the units: Agricultural Extension Center to organize and implement models: Transgenic corn resistant to pests; Corn seed treatment to kill pests; High quality potatoes, sweet potatoes...
