In the period 2017-2025, English teaching and learning in Nghe An received close attention and direction from all levels and the education sector, bringing about remarkable results, but also revealing many difficulties and challenges.
That is the lack of facilities, not uniform, 117 schools do not have foreign language classrooms. Many rooms equipped before 2020 are not suitable for the new program.
In addition, there are also shortcomings in the curriculum, learning materials and teaching methods. Testing and assessment do not reflect the true capacity, are too theoretical, and do not comprehensively assess the four skills.

Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training once again emphasized the role of using English in life: English is the door to the world, helping to quickly access science and technology. In the digital age, English is not only a subject but has become a fundamental ability of global citizens, young people can hardly integrate without the ability to use English fluently and people with English will have outstanding advantages.

From the above difficulties, Nghe An Education Department determined that in the coming time, it will continue to invest in and pay attention to English learning in schools.
In particular, mechanisms and policies will be developed to encourage teachers and learners, invest resources in facilities, teaching equipment and teaching staff, innovate teaching methods, testing and assessment to improve the quality of English learning of students according to international competency standards, and create excitement for students in the learning process.
During the implementation process, the Education sector will evaluate seriously and objectively and require teachers to work seriously and methodically, closely following teaching and learning in schools.
The head of the Education sector also highly appreciated the implementation of this workshop. This is an event of special significance to the Education and Training sector of Nghe An, aiming to contribute to improving the quality of foreign language training, at the same time, promoting digital transformation of education throughout the province.
With many requirements in the new period, the workshop focused on assessing the current situation, difficulties and challenges in teaching and learning.Englishlocally. At the same time, introduce models, technological solutions and internationalize English learning, typically online learning solutions applying AI and personalization according to capacity with the goal of making English the second language in schools.

This is also one of the premises for Nghe An to set a goal that by 2035, English will be widely, regularly, and naturally used in educational activities, communication, and administration at Nghe An educational institutions, forming a dynamic English-Vietnamese language ecosystem.
In addition, the English proficiency of students and teachers has been greatly improved, meeting regional and international standards, contributing to improving the quality of human resources and integration.
