(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 14, the Department of Information and Communications (MIC) held a conference to review the MIC work in 2015 and deploy key tasks in 2016. Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and directed the conference.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Journalists Association, leaders of departments, branches and sectors; representatives of the District People's Committee, Head of the Department of Culture - Information, Radio Stations of districts, cities and towns; postal and telecommunications enterprises in the area.

In 2015, state management work of the sector from provincial to district level was deployed promptly and effectively in all fields.

Press activities continue to develop in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Information and Communications and the province; promptly handle violations in press activities, gradually affirm the role of a bridge between press agencies and departments, branches and localities to build an equal press environment; fully and promptly reflect major holidays of the province and the country, on the socio-economic situation, national defense and security.

Management of publishing, printing and distribution has been strengthened and rectified; radio, television and electronic information, foreign information and grassroots information have initially achieved remarkable results.

In 2015, Nghe An ranked 7th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of ICT readiness index. Total revenue from Posts, Telecommunications and IT in 2015 was estimated at 3,513.4 billion VND, reaching 104.41% of the 2015 plan.

In 2016, the Department of Information and Communications strives for industry revenue to reach 3,522 billion VND; the province's telephone subscriber density will reach 130 subscribers/100 people.Build and complete information infrastructure, create a foundation for e-Government development, apply shared software in administrative agencies; ensure that 80% of district People's Committees apply modern IT in one-stop-shop departments; organize the implementation of a number of pilot one-stop-shop models connecting to the commune level.

At the Conference, delegates made many presentations on tasks and solutions for information and communication work in 2016, focusing on some main contents such as: actively disseminating and popularizing laws on information and communication, strengthening inspection and examination of subscription businesses, strengthening state management of the Internet sector, promoting tourism through information and communication channels, increasing allowances for commune-level radio station staff, strengthening coordination in propaganda between the press and functional agencies, etc.

Comrade Bui Quang Phuong - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Vinh City said that it is necessary to strengthen the management of public Internet services in the area.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Information and Communications sector in the past year, and emphasized the role of the Information and Communications sector in conveying to people and businesses the policies of the Party and State, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

On this occasion, by order of the Prime Minister, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to Mr. Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications; awarded the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Information and Communications to the Department of Information and Communications; awarded Certificates of Merit of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 excellent labor collectives in 2015, 4 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in 2014-2015.
