(Baonghean.vn) - In addition to suspending festivals, the Provincial People's Committee also requires limiting the number of people participating at the same time in organizing weddings, funerals, tomb sweeping, longevity celebrations, death anniversaries, and entertainment activities.

On January 14, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long signed a document on strengthening measures to manage cultural and sports activities to ensure the celebration of the Lunar New Year 2022 and sent it to provincial departments, branches, sectors, and organizations; People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns.

Accordingly, the People's Committee requested to temporarily suspend the organization of all types of festivals before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2022 (from the first lunar month to the end of the third lunar month) and fireworks during the Lunar New Year in the province. Minimize the organization of cultural and sports events and activities that attract large crowds. Heads of agencies, units, cadres and party members must promote their role as role models, actively propagate and mobilize people to raise their vigilance and comply with epidemic prevention requirements.

Strengthen propaganda and dissemination work, raise awareness and compliance with the law; regularly warn people not to be subjective or negligent in disease prevention and control, provide full and timely information, create consensus in society so that people can enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet in the new normal state.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested units and localities, based on the local epidemic situation, to organize activities at museums, relics, libraries, cinemas, art and sports performance venues according to Document No. 3862/HD-BVHTTDL dated October 18, 2021 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism guiding temporary safe and flexible adaptation, effective control of the COVID-19 epidemic in cultural, sports and tourism activities. Request to strictly implement measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic at historical and cultural relics according to regulations.

Mobilize households to reduce the scale, minimize the number of guests attending and serving; encourage families to use the form of announcing good news instead of inviting to attend wedding ceremonies and wedding parties; strictly implement 5K. Minimize the organization or organize appropriate scale of events of each family, unit, community, society to ensure compliance with regulations of the local health sector according to the motto "Safely adapt, flexibly, effectively control the COVID-19 epidemic".

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to strengthen the direction, coordination, inspection and supervision of the implementation of measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic in cultural and sports activities before, during and after the Lunar New Year; ensure serving people to celebrate Tet happily, healthily, safely, in accordance with the civilized lifestyle, customs, practices, cultural traditions of the nation and the COVID-19 epidemic situation of each locality.

This is the second consecutive year that Nghe An has had to stop festival activities at the beginning of the new year due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every year, Nghe An province has more than 30 festivals, of which about 20 festivals are concentrated between January and March of the lunar calendar./.
