Nghe An invested nearly 9 billion VND to fix traffic black spots
(Baonghean.vn) - Based on the survey, records and recommendations of the province, the General Department of Roads (Ministry of Transport) has agreed to invest 8.7 billion VND for Nghe An to fix and handle 5 black spots on National Highways.
Specifically: 3.1 billion VND to handle black spots of traffic accidents at km 26 and km 27 + 486 on National Highway 7C in Do Luong district including the intersection at km 26, National Highway 7C intersecting with the district road and the intersection at km 27 + 486 of National Highway 7C intersecting with the district road; 3.8 billion VND to handle black spots of traffic accidents at km 35 of National Highway 48 in Thai Hoa town including the intersection of National Highway 46 intersecting with inner-city routes; 1.8 billion VND to handle black spots at km 285 + 176 and km 308 + 600 of National Highway 15 in Do Luong district including the intersection of National Highway 15 with Provincial Road 534 and the intersection at km 308 + 600 of National Highway 15 intersecting with National Highway 7.

The common point of the above black spots is that they are all crowded intersections with high traffic density and many heavy trucks but narrow corners, obstructed visibility, leading to many traffic accidents that kill and injure many people.

For black spots on National Highway 7C and National Highway 15 through Do Luong, the General Department of Roads requires supplementing and strengthening the traffic safety system by painting speed bumps, center lines, and intersection signs with priority roads for road users to observe; widening the corners, harmoniously connecting the branches, installing traffic lights, lighting, drainage, and supplementing the traffic safety system.

For the National Highway 48 intersection at Thai Hoa Town 6-way intersection, traffic at the intersection area will be adjusted and reorganized, local connections of branches will be handled, traffic lights will be installed, lighting will be increased, and traffic safety systems will be added.
Mr. Vo Minh Duc - Chief of Office of the Traffic Safety Committee of Nghe An province said that along with handling the above black spots, according to the plan, in 2020, the BOT contractor will also maintain, repair and invest in handling a number of other black spots on National Highway 1A. Currently, the Department of Transport is preparing investment documents for construction in 2020; advising the province and assigning localities to arrange compensation and clearance funds. We are also continuing to complete the documents of the remaining black spots to submit for investment licenses to promptly handle and fix black spots, minimizing traffic accidents.
